Coleshill Stumbles in 2-1 Defeat Against Playoff Hopefuls Anstey Nomads

“Two games against Anstey where I feel we should at least be drawing both games. Decision making at crucial times needs to be better from us.

Normally when there is controversy over a decision you would be saying, only he knows or only they know, but in this case the officials have guessed at a decision which may end up being right or it may end up being wrong, nobody knows if the ball crossed the line it moved that quickly from the lads strike, the hesitation of 3/4 seconds by the linesman would indicate to me that he’s guessed and folded under immense pressure. I’m not saying it has or hasn’t it’s  not my job to make a call on that.

From that decision, Anstey have really taught us a lesson in application, desire and a will to win that I’ve not seen from any other side this season.

The first half was difficult for us because we weren’t at the races and they are a fantastic side who are full of winners and had us on the ropes. I was delighted to go in at 0-1 and regroup. We looked a little lost and overwhelmed by their appetite for the game in all honesty, especially first 30/35 mins. Second half was much much more like us, and we began to play through them at will really, and took 5 out of the game who tried to press us.

I’d have liked us to be braver first half because it’s all well and good running around but if we were better on the ball first half it doesn’t matter how much you run we would have played through them and taken their physicality away from them.

We’ve created some good moments but we were a little shot shy. Getting back to 1-1 I honestly thought we’d go on to win the game.

Again we’ve lost a game to a wonder free kick from 25 yards. I’m not happy about our shape in the build up to the free kick, we’d just lost Bassit 30 seconds before and we conceded a poor foul where there was no danger. We’ve came out on the wrong end of a tight result against a very high level side who I have huge respect for and honestly wish them all the best in the play offs, which I think are now set and you don’t want be playing them that’s for sure because they are bang at it and will be a problem in those play offs”
