Coleshill Town Holds Corby in a Stalemate

In an eventful day, Coleshill Town managed earned a 0-0 draw against promotion-chasing Corby Town. Despite Corby sitting second in the league and pushing for promotion, a game dominated by solid defences, earned them a valuable point, showcasing their resilience.
Elsewhere, Darlaston Town suffered a setback with a loss, and clash between Anstey Nomads and Sporting Khalsa was unfortunately abandoned due a downpour water logging the pitch, leaving fans eager for updates on when the match will be rescheduled.
With these results, the league table remains tight, and the battle for promotion and mid-table positions continues to heat up.

After a great 0-0 v Corby Grant gives us his thoughts.

A typical game of two halves today, I thought we came out the traps flying and started really brightly and first half we dominated territory, won our duels all over, shots on goal and just general play, we just looked the better side and should have got on the scoresheet before half time. Second half I thought they showed why they are where they are and were better than us in that second period, they loaded us from every angle on the pitch and we had to deal with that in different ways. Taylor has played 35 mins with the most horrific broken nose I’ve seen due to the physical duels between Tendai & Toll and my centre halves but we stood up to every long ball they put into our box from throws, corners and crosses and we got a deserved point in the end. Our game management was spot on today which I knew it would have to be due to 600 Corby fans trying to suck that ball into the net. Missing Jack Hallahan today was a blow and Harry Sweeney but I thought Bassit and Gio who came in just showed that the strength we have is in the squad and we’re not just a team who have 11 players to rely on like a few. We couldn’t play our game today due to the pitch but we still tried when we got over the half way line but it proved difficult. I’ll always feel that’s the best way for us to score goals and win games with the players we have. I have to mention Dan Brookes who is right up there with the best right backs in the league, Craven, Carter-Byrne, Tye and Dainty who really physically stood up and were leaders today for me. That’s one defeat in eight and we look forward to welcoming Anstey next week who are another side who are a proper outfit who will bring out the best in us
