Coleshill Triumph Against Playoff Hopefuls Long Eaton with 2-1 Victory!

Coleshill Town staged a thrilling comeback against Long Eaton United, overturning a 1-0 deficit with goals from Daniel Gyasi and Taylor Carter-Byrne. The victory marks a significant win as they defeated the playoff contenders 2-1.

Alongside a good 3 points for Coleshill,  Darlaston, their Walsall Senior Cup final opponents suffered a loss, emphasising the importance of this crucial win keeping the momentum going in the last few games of the season.

Coleshill manager, Grant Joshua must be proud man tonight, we asked him for his say on all things Coleshill! Here’s what he said after today’s epic win.

“Proud is an understatement in relation to my feelings towards my players. We have yet again gave a top side a goals head start in our only mistake of the game and came back to win. Barring the final 10/15 mins we were the better side but even in those minutes we still headed everything, tracked every run, won every tackle, stuck together when it got tough. We were never going to play a side of Long Eatons quality and have it all our own way for 90+minutes.  They’ve won 17 out of the last 19 so I expected an onslaught in the last part of the game. We got through a lot of leg work and looked physically strong in everything we did.

I’ve said for some time that we are a top side but didn’t start well enough and it’s cost us in the end. Going 1-0 down against the run of play could have gone one of two ways but the group are so strong and the powers of recovery are exceptional. Mentally we’re getting better, getting stronger and there’s a belief about them now as a group of players. What they are delivering tells me a hell of a lot about them as individuals and as a squad of players. Where the club was 12 months ago to where it is now is worlds apart and that is down to the players in the building, fighting for every single point and matching my obsession for points. They know what I want from the final two league games and if they play how they played today we have a chance to get positive results in both games”.

Come and see the team in there last home game next Saturday at Pack Meadow.
